Spongy monolith ( SPM ) , high throughput bio separation media
Disposables
Information
Spongy monolith: Physical features
(i) High-throughput separations with large through-pores allowing the high flow rate at lower pressure
(ii) Superior separation of large biomolecules (such as proteins, cells) to particle packed separation media
(iii) Directly bindable with affinity ligands at high densities due to epoxides on the surface of the SPM (SPM-Bio)
(iv) Extremely low irreversible adsorption of biological analytes after immobilization of biomolecules (SPM-Bio)
(v) Available to place into specific devices and existing parts with high formability
*Immobilization of various protein ligands
Protein biding columns can be easily prepared by filling arbitrary protein solutions inside of the SPM-Bio column and incubating because the SPM-Bio involves reactive epoxide groups on the surface of the medium. Not only wide variety of applications such as affinity columns using selectivity of ligand proteins but also examining interaction between low molecular drugs and proteins are available.
